Change Video Speed in VideoPad

You've been asking for it, so I'm thrilled to report that VideoPad now supports speed variation, giving you the ability to slow down or speed up any video clips that you are editing. Version 2.10 of VideoPad video editing software added this long awaited variable speed playback control, which has been the most requested feature across any of our products.

Adjust the playback speed of video clips in VideoPad

Changing the playback speed of clips gives you more flexibility and control in creating your video masterpiece than ever before. So now, whether you’re adding a time lapse video of the creation of that magnificent sand castle you made at the beach or slowing down your child’s slide into home for an slow motion instant replay of that first home run, you have complete control of the action.
Edit: with version 2.20 the speed control was moved to be one of the effects available on the Effects Tab

    2. Hi there, we received any reports yet about lines showing up when slowing down a video. Have you tried to export it? Please try a different video file and see if you will have the same issue. If yes, You can contact our support team here: https://www.nch.com.au/support/supportcontact.html?software=VideoPad .Thanks -NCH Software Team

  2. Norma, I am not aware of any bugs on slowing down the speed, but two resources for you would be the VideoPad user forum and our Support team. It is always best to give the support team as much information on any trouble you are having as possible, for example is it only that one speed setting you are having trouble or if it is on other reduced speeds as well, and have you tried more than one video file? You can contact support about videopad here.

  4. To speed up or slow down or reverse a video clip, select the clip, then choose the Speed effect from Effects tab.

  7. I have 2000 pictures in a time laps that I've done, when I slide the bar for changing the speed all the way up full to 1000, it only reduces each picture play time to 3sec, how do I reduce it to 0.5?? I can do it manually under every picture, but it would suck doing it 2000 times. Please help!

    Thanks.

  8. Help - I have succesfully edited one of my videos.
I am now on the second - the first 24min. clip was fine, everything worked well - but the rest of the clips are playing extremely slow, so slow in fact that it is impossible to edit.
When I fit the two clips together, one is normal the other ????
what has happened, what have I done????

    1. Hello,

Initially you can try to adjust the speed of the clips that are lagging. Under effects you can change the speed. If this does not correct the problem you may need to try to import the video again. It may be a very large file which would be part of the problem. At that point you may want to try to make the video smaller before you even begin editing, either by saving it as a different format or compressing it. If neither of these options work try to uninstall VideoPad and re-install it.

  9. Does anyone know why I cannot get the chroma key function to work. I followed the instructions in the help menu, but it is always grayed out and I can't click on the "use chroma key" option. Yes, I did purchase the licensed version. Thanks.

  10. I'm having the same problem as Norma. Still waiting for admin approval to post on forums... ho hum. Got a deadline here...

Same problem, two computers, both have windows 7 home premium. I've tried several different output formats, but all my clips that are sped up have about ten slightly diagonal lines going all the way across them. The other clips are fine. Can't find it in forum search. HALP!!

  17. when I adjust clip speed it changes the position of the audio underneath it.

I have a music track spanning the whole video, when editing video I want to speed up certain clips but it messes ALL my audio up(multiple audio tracks).. even if I lock the tracks! whats the point of locking something if it can still move?!

  18. is there a way to lock your project so that what you produce into a mp4 file cannot be changed or altered???

  19. Hello, When editing iPad Pro recorded video and increasing its speed by 4%, there appears to be an audio/video alignment issue when exporting mp4/h264. The video becomes out of sync with the audio but it looks fine before rendering. Is this a known problem?
